Technical Character Artist

Our studio is looking for a Technical Character Artist who is passionate about bringing exceptional entertainment to millions of players.  As our Technical Character Artist, you will be responsible for building shaders, material and texturing pipelines, modeling pipelines, and working to make our in-game characters render at their best.

  • You have a deep understanding of Maya, Substance, and Unreal Engine and have a desire to push them to their limits.
  • You feel at home creating characters, shaders, textures, and pipelines.

What You Will Do:

  • Collaborate with Character Artists and Tech Artists to talk about character goals.
  • Build a new base shader for the character team that enables new graphical enhancements.
  • Hold a meeting where you talk about interesting technology that is upcoming.
  • Working with the Graphic Engineers to build out a new feature for the character team.
  • Going to a playtest to see how characters are playing and to give notes on the entire game.
  • Look for opportunities to simplify the pipeline to make the character team more efficient.
  • Meeting with your team manager to plan your career goals for the next year.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Three plus years of experience
  • Work with an Environment Artist to seamlessly integrate your VFX into a level.
  • Unreal Engine 4 experience
  • Maya and Substance experience
